Family businesses have been the backbone of downtown Moline with the Trimble name held in high regard ever since Riley and Dorothy Trimble put their name on a funeral home back in 1945. Eric and Barb Trimble expanded their presence in Moline by opening WaterMark Corners Gifts and Stationery in 1999. Now the family is opening their third business in downtown Moline, CityView Celebrations located at the newly constructed Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street.
CityView Celebrations is the Quad Cities’ newest venue for small and medium-sized events with Moline’s magnificent skyline providing ambiance to any of life’s celebrations. The new facility hosted its first event, the Moline High School Class of 1998 Reunion, on July 19, 2014.
CityView Celebrations offers rental space for events on two levels of Trimble Pointe. The upper level Horizon Room can seat up to 250 for a wedding ceremony, program, meeting, or recital. A Yamaha Conservatory Disklavier can be played by a pianist or programmed to perform a full repertoire of music with a built-in synthesizer to replicate organ, piano, percussion, brass or woodwind.
CityView’s signature feature is the floor to ceiling windows on both levels where guests can savor a sunlight view during the day or the twinkling lights of the Moline skyline after dusk. Facing north toward the Mississippi, the windows capture the historic clock tower of First Lutheran Church and the iWireless Center is just 3 blocks away.
Immediately below the Horizon Room is a fully licensed reception center, which can accommodate up to 160 persons at round tables for a seated plated or buffet dinner. A fully stocked bar and lounge adds additional flexibility.
Savilla Holstine, events coordinator, shared the distinguishing characteristics of CityView: “Our vision from the beginning was to create an “event center” to host family and community gatherings in an elegant, comfortable contemporary setting. As a community facility open for public use, we are ever mindful of the health, safety, and accessibility needs for our guests. We knew an extra large catering kitchen was essential to accommodate the warming and cooling transport equipment provided by the area’s best professional caterers. The fully stocked bar and lounge with fireplace and big screen TV provide a perfect setting for engaged conversations.”
A variety of menus for breakfast meetings, bereavement luncheons, dine and learn meetings, receptions, cocktail parties, birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, rehearsal and wedding dinners have been developed for convenient review.
Our dining niche ranges from 20-40 people for small intimate gatherings all the way to 160 for a complete sit down dinner.
“The Trimble Family mantra has always been, ‘We can take care of everything so that you can focus on your guests and the events being celebrated,’” concluded Mrs. Holstine.
As a result, CityView Celebrations will provide event coordination, linens, flowers, photo displays, dance floor rental, and AV screen. A real bonus is the capability to design and print custom invitations/thank you notes utilizing WaterMark Corners, a division of Trimble Pointe Companies.
Distinctively different from other printers, WaterMark Corners offers an array of gifts, stationery, and custom printing options which allow an individual touch to event planning.
There is nothing more personal than custom invitations and stationery. WaterMark’s designers help to combine the right color, texture, wording, and flair to add continuity.
CityView Celebrations is further enhanced by the artistic photographs within the Hunt Harris Gallery featuring architectural views of the Quad Cities by our local renowned photographer.
