Men and women across the quad Cities are coming together to support the American Heart Association’s mission to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke at the 2016 Quad Cities Heart Ball, scheduled for Saturday, April 16. The American Heart Association is pleased to announce that Dr. Radhika Kolla of Great River Medical and Dr. Faraz Manazir of Cardiovascular Medicine, P.C. will co-chair the 2016 Quad Cities Heart Ball.
Dr. Radhika Kolla is a board certified internal medicine physician practicing in the community for 20 years. Her interest is prevention of disease holistically by nutrition, life style, and supplements in addition to practicing traditional medicine. She has also been involved in teaching medical residents.
Dr. Faraz Manazir is a board certified interventional cardiologist serving the Quad Cities since 1998. He trained in Evanston, Illinois, and his area of interest is in the new modalities of treatment for cardiovascular disease.
They live in LeClaire, Iowa with their three children, who are enrolled in Pleasant Valley Community Schools. The Manazir family is actively involved in volunteering and philanthropy within their school district. Drs. Manazir and Kolla have had the privileges of serving on the Board of Trinity regional health systems and the Trinity schools of nursing, respectively, for many years.
In partnering with the American Heart Association, Drs. Manazir and Kolla continue their belief that, “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.“ They have truly shown this through their work to make the Quad Cities a healthier place to live, work, and play.
All dollars raised at the Heart Ball will be used to fund lifesaving research, education and community programs right here in Iowa and Illinois. The 3rd annual Quad Cities Heart Ball takes place Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 5pm to 10pm at the iWireless Center in Moline. Event features include a cocktail reception, an elegant meal, professional photographer, silent and live auctions, a short program, live entertainment, and much, much more!
