Whether shopping for groceries or scheduling a personal appointment, time determines where we’ll shop and how far we’ll drive to use a service or join an activity. Location, convenience and expediency—that’s the concept behind the new Genesis Imaging Center located inside the Genesis HealthPlex on 28th Avenue Drive. Now, Illinois residents can choose the imaging services that best meet their needs at one of two Genesis facilities located in Silvis and Moline. Both facilities offer advanced imaging technology provided by experienced and certified Radiologic Technologists and trained support staff.

Locality
The HealthPlex is centrally located just off 41st Street, situated between Avenue of the Cities and John Deere Road. The Imaging Center offers 3D Mammography, Bone Density Testing, and Ultrasound. No doctor’s order is needed for a mammogram. Just call 563-421-XRAY (9729) and schedule a day and time that’s convenient for you.

Convenience
Genesis physician offices, Convenient Care, Wound Institute, Integrative Wellness Center, Physical Therapy, Laboratory, X-Ray and the Imaging Center offers patients “one stop” access for needed health services. In turn, decreased waiting time allows more quality time for physicians with their patients. Patients of physicians who do not practice inside the HealthPlex are welcome to use its expanded services.

Expediency
3D Mammography

A 2D/3D mammogram takes only thirty minutes from the time you leave your car, have your exam, and return to the parking lot. In that time, you experience the same superior exam interpreted by the same radiologists that serve all the Genesis Centers for Breast Health (CBH). Scheduling services at the Imaging Center is timely, fast, and easy. Sometimes your mammogram can be scheduled on the same day you call. Because there is no emergency department to set back your appointment, you receive predictable, on-time professional care.

Bone Density Testing
A bone density test (also called a DXA or DEXA scan) uses a small amount of x-ray to measure the amount of mineral in the bones of your lower back, hip, or forearm to forecast your risk of osteoporosis. Many women like scheduling their bone density test to occur on the same day as their annual mammogram. Bone density testing is very quick and the results are read by the same radiologists who interpret your mammogram.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound is safe and painless. It is used to image internal organs in “real time” and to assess how well blood is flowing through your vessels. This technology produces images using sound waves instead of radiation. Ultrasound exams typically require more time due to the extensive range of procedures  and exams it’s able to perform.
