Your metabolism is the engine of your body that processes reactions and burns calories in its course of business. A large portion of the American population has issues with their metabolism, causing fatigue, weight gain, and other chronic symptoms and health conditions.

The secret to obtaining AND retaining a great body, sustainable energy, and balanced hormones is to understand your metabolism and support its functions. To better understand this viewpoint, let’s use weight loss as one common complaint directly associated to metabolism. Most diets ignore the basic needs of a healthy metabolism. Here are some common fallacies that need to be exposed:

A calorie is a calorie: False.
One hundred calories from Oreos are different from one hundred calories from broccoli because they have different effects on your metabolism. Therefore, simply counting calories will not sustain long-term weight loss. Who needs another yo-yo diet?

Limit fats, since they contain more calories than carbs and proteins: False.
Without proper fats, you can’t make necessary hormones or benefit from the feeling of satiety (fullness after eating). Not eating enough dietary fat will cause slower metabolism and mood disorders, while increasing your cravings. This sounds painful, doesn’t it?

Eating only 500 calories will achieve your weight loss goals in a short period of time: Sort of True.
Yes, it will achieve your weight loss goals in the short term, but it will only last for a limited period of time; and in the long run, you will gain more weight than when you started your 500 calorie diet. These diets cause loss of muscle mass that slows your metabolism, making future weight loss efforts even harder.

As you can see, these misconceptions may cause short-term weight loss, but will eventually damage your metabolism. If you don’t know the rules of how to master your metabolism, you will suffer from frustration and a continually increasing waistline.
The exciting news for those still on the quest for weight loss is that with a metabolism playbook, you can work with your body instead of against it to achieve long term weight loss, without it having to be a painful endeavor.

The Rules of Mastering Your Metabolism
Learning how to honor these rules of metabolic function will put all those authors who write diet book after diet book out of business because you only need to learn this once.

  • Learn how to stabilize Ghrelin: Ghrelin is a hormone that tells you that you are hungry. How easy would weight loss be if we could keep that hormone in control?
  • Learn how to stabilize Leptin: Leptin is a hormone that tells you that you are full. Bring it on! Who wants a gallon of leptin?
  • Learn how to reduce Insulin: Insulin is a storage hormone, and when levels are high, its job is to store fat instead of burning it. Who wants to know how to lower this hormone?
  • Learn how to reduce Cortisol: This stress hormone breaks down muscle tissue to make sugar during times of stress. Learn how to reduce stress to sustain your muscle tissue to keep your metabolism strong.

Metabolic Mastery is the key to the future of weight loss. Gone are the days when you will start yet another diet that will cause long term damage to your metabolism, long term weight gain, and continued frustration.

Learn about your body, respect your body’s function, and master your metabolism. This new mindset will provide you the opportunity to enjoy the body of your dreams, high levels of sustainable energy, and a zesty, stable mood that will impact your life and those you love.
