Our bodies begin with a perfect construction. As we age, playtime in our youth, the effects of our jobs, gravity, and injury take us further from that origin. Keystone Body Therapies focuses on the cause of your pain, as opposed to just focusing on the symptoms and areas of pain. The therapies we offer assist in restoring your body’s structure back to the way nature intended, a fully functional musculoskeletal system free of pain and impairment.
Keystone Body Therapies was founded on the principle of Structural Bodywork. A process of re-educating and realigning the body through movement and touch to facilitate the relationship between the body and gravity. Structural Bodywork helps the body release harmful patterns of stress and dysfunction. It works by lengthening the connective tissue (fascia), and as a result, the tissue becomes soft, rehydrated, and more pliable, allowing muscles and joints the space and freedom to function properly and move freely.
Bringing the body back into its natural alignment will not only reduce pain, but can also…
- Improve flexibility, balance, and breathing capacity
- Provide a feeling of lightness and fluidity
- Increased energy and mental clarity
- Give you more self-confidence
Through bodywork and awareness, Keystone advances an individual’s understanding of their body and how to take control of their health. This is accomplished through providing caring and clinical service by the most skilled team of therapists, making them accessible in one-on-one sessions. There is nothing more beneficial than the art of human hands sculpting and manipulating the soft tissues of the body. You will not find machines, stimulating devices, or medications at Keystone.
“Every therapist at Keystone has to complete intensive continuing education to become a Structural Bodyworker. No one else has the unique training and approach that our skilled therapists have” says Hardcastle.
First-time guests are offered a free consultation and an overview of personal goals. From there, we commit to getting you to where you want to be, working with you as part of a team of professions that work together to lead you to health and healing. Hardcastle said, “We are health partners with many different smaller businesses here in town. We’re all about referring back and forth and doing what’s best for the client.”
Keystone Body Therapies participates in many charity and community events, to name a few:
- The Rock ‘N Roll Marathon
- The Travis Manion Foundation 9/11 Heroes Run
- Race for Maggie’s Place
- Feed My Starving Children
- Desert Cancer Foundation of Arizona
- September CHAMP (Cancer Hope & Awareness Month for Pediatrics)
Meet the owner
Tate Hardcastle, owner of Keystone Body Therapies, says, “Our mission and vision is to get people pain free. We don’t have to live with aches and pains, limited range of motion, and all that stuff many people think they just have to accept as part of life and aging. It is possible to live healthier, much happier, and pain free, so when you’re 60 or 70 years old, you can still get on the ground and wrestle with your grandkids.”
Tate graduated from Utah College of Massage Therapy in 2004 and has worked solely as a massage therapist since, opening his Chandler practice in 2013 and expanding to a second location in Scottsdale in August 2017.
Along with his wonderful and supportive family, Keystone Body Therapies is his passion! Educating the public on the benefits of this work is a huge part of what we do.
Rehabilitative Therapy Techniques
A unique and personalized body movement program, designed for each individual client to aid in postural and muscular imbalances without the use of massage or bodywork. Neuromuscular Re-Education uses specific, yet gentle movement exercises and stretches to restore full mobility and allow the body to function properly. These exercises will strengthen specific muscles to allow the body naturally realign itself, in turn, the body will function properly and fluidly, as well as pain free. Re-education movement exercises are gentle and effective enough to be performed by people of all ages and activity levels, and they are a great compliment to the other services that we offer.
Clinical bodywork focusing on specific areas using a variety of myofascial release techniques. Therapeutic Bodywork is a blend of advanced deep-tissue massage and body movement with the intention of lengthening chronically short muscles. Targeting these areas of dysfunction allows the therapist to restore range of motion, reduce the negative effects of gravity, alleviate pain, and allow the body to properly balance itself.
A relaxing combination of Swedish Massage and Therapeutic Bodywork. Our Keystone Signature Massage will relax the body, while following its fascial plains to balance and realign at the same time. By blending several different therapeutic and relaxing modalities, this technique will relieve stress, and promote proper mind, body, and spirit function. The use of light to deep, long, and fluid strokes decreases muscle tension and improves circulation as well.
Clinical bodywork focusing on specific muscles, rather than an entire muscle group, to relieve pain and restore mobility. Injury and Rehabilitative Bodywork is used to alleviate pain, increase circulation, release trigger points and adhesions, and decreases healing time. Releasing trigger points and adhesions in specific muscles allows the tissue to become more mobile and pliable, reducing spasms and increasing range of motion of the joints, which will also aid in preventing further or future injuries.
At Keystone Body Therapies we are dedicated to providing our clients with long lasting results through cohesive body therapies in a professional and clinical environment.
