We all have heard the term, “million dollar smile.” The good news is, a great smile doesn’t really have to cost a million dollars. What “million dollar smile” often means is just a smile that exudes confidence, health, and happiness.
Having dental work done that is considered “cosmetic” — bonding, crowns, dental implants, teeth whitening, and veneers — shouldn’t be considered a luxury. Some people who get their smile brightened a notch never really realized the value of a great smile because it had been so long since they had one.
When patients come into our office, we try to provide exceptional service, making the patient feel as comfortable as possible. “Many patients walk into our office timid because of a past dental experience that didn’t end well for them. Here at Garner Dental, we never want one of our patients to leave unhappy with any service we provided. I actually like getting feedback from my patients, it lets me know what our practice could improve on,” says Dr. Garner. “We will stand behind our services.”
A Healthy Smile May Lead to a Happier Longer Life
Sometimes a patient’s initial reaction when they’re told that their smile could be restored to a smile they’ve only dreamed of will be, “Oh, I’ve forgotten how it even feels to smile with confidence.” “I find pleasure in knowing my patients can feel proud again of their smile,” explained Dr. Garner.
Through the years, patients have grown accustomed to avoiding any dentist office. Typically, these patients come into the office having poor oral health, and look to us for help in restoring their smile. “People often forget how much their smile impacts their daily life,” explained Dr. Garner.
Dr. Garner said he recently restored the smile of a 63-year-old woman, who had lived many years with severe dental problems. “I was able to transform her smile, bringing her confidence level back up. When I see patients’ reactions after a significate transformation, it makes my job so rewarding.”
Meet Dr. Lake Garner

Dr. Garner enjoys being active in the community, and helping with local charities. This project will help those out in the community that may lack the funds to pay for the necessary dental procedures.

Before dental school, he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1992. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, and also an honored member of the Who’s Who Dental Edition in 2015.
From Bonding to Veneers, Dr. Garner Offers It All
Dr. Garner offers five different ways to improve your smile beyond just regular dental care. Those are:
Bonding — Bonding is a relatively inexpensive, quick, and painless way to repair dental problems, such as chips and cracks, oddly shaped teeth, gaps, worn down teeth, or teeth where roots are exposed. Dr. Garner uses composite resin, which can either match the color of your teeth, or be of a lighter shade to reshape your teeth. Using a special light, the bond hardens. It is then trimmed and polished. In most cases, this can be done in only one appointment.
Crowns — Crowns have a come a long way. These days, crowns look just like a real tooth. Also known as caps, they can cover a severely deteriorated tooth, help anchor an implant, hide a discolored tooth, or help shape a chipped tooth.
Dental Implants — Dental implants are a sturdy, natural-looking, and permanent replacement for one missing tooth, a few missing teeth, or an entire arch of missing teeth. The doctor may suggest a bridge, a crown, or a partial/complete denture. Dental implants are fixed into place, and can last a lifetime.
Veneers — Veneers are beautiful, porcelain covers that can completely transform a smile. Veneers correct many of the same dental flaws that some people choose bonding for, but are much sturdier and more natural-looking. “Veneers can transform any imperfections patients find in their smile. This process only takes about an hour or two depending, not years, as is the case with orthodontic treatment. “Veneers can give you the look you’ve always wanted, without a long timeframe for achievement,” says Dr. Garner.
Teeth Whitening — Don’t be fooled by over-the-counter whitening solutions. Not only are they a temporary fix for a brighter smile, but the chemicals used in these solutions can damage your teeth, especially when left on overnight. Dr. Garner can whiten your teeth in a way that is safe, effective, and lasting.
Offering Quality Service With Follow-Up Care
When you leave Dr. Garner’s office, your dental care doesn’t stop there. Someone on his staff will follow up with you to make sure everything is going well after your procedure.
And if the Hattiesburg office isn’t convenient for you, Dr. Garner has multiple locations. We would be happy to make special arrangements to see you at any one of our offices.
Garner Dental is in network with multiple insurance companies. These companies can help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted — with an affordable price.
“Whether you’re coming in for a routine exam, or having multiple dental issues, we will make sure that after your exam, you leave our office without any questions, or any pain,” says Dr. Garner.
Dr. Garner also offers sealants, which can be a great way to prevent dental problems from happening in the first place, especially with children.
“I especially like to treat children with sealants,” he said. “The preventative resins will decrease the likelihood of decay in permanent molars, helping prevent poor oral exams in the future.”
“A lot of patients brush two times a day, but brushing alone only gets about 86 percent of the possible plaque that may be hiding in the hard to reach areas. We recommend brushing, flossing, and rinsing with Listerine to ensure better oral health. Even after all of the following, it’s still important to have routine check-ups,” says Dr. Garner.
Dr. Garner provides all of his services with the most current, state-of-the-art technology. “I always like to stay updated with any new information that has been discovered in the dental field.” He prides himself in providing quality dental care to every patient that walks through the door.
“Many of our patients will tell you, they feel like the staff and I truly care about them,” he said. “Every patient that leaves our office should feel confident and comfortable with the services that were rendered.”
